Prepare box of jiffy cornbread mix per directions. Pour into 9×7 (9×9 works too) Pyrex. Add salt and pepper and top with 1-2 cans of chili (I do two, but it’s up to you!) Bake at 400 for 35-40 mins. The cornbread cooks in the chili and rises to the top.

I should also add that omitting a second can of chili will bring it down to about $4 and some change. Green onion garnish is optional of course. I always eat it with greenies sour cream and shredded cheddar, which we already had in the house
