  1. I use yarn last year and it did good, not that very sturdy but it worked good for me so far, but I'll use d twine next time..I have sown my peas in 5 gallon buckets too and I used tomato cages …

  2. This is an amazing timing, I will do this trellis right now! Thank you πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»

  3. I'm lucky enough to grow several types of bamboo, so I have all the free gardening trellis material I could want. Just have to buy the string. I haven't done peas for a while, but I used to just put branches into the rows and they'd climb and sprawl over that – it didn't cost a cent.

  4. I happrn to have poly twine! Thanks for getting soaked for the video, you rock! Now go get dry & don't get sick! Many Blessings from Deborah in West Virginia!

  5. Love the teaching, love your willingness to get soaked to help us out, and i love the humor! Your videos are one of the best parts of my day, Luke! You're such a REAL PERSON, your passion for gardening is contagious, and it's so amazing to have someone right here in MI to guide me in my unpredictable multi-weather gardening state! Your educational videos have helped me so much. I just ordered 3 kinds of blueberry plants from you and ALL of my garden seeds for this year! I pray God's blessings over your business, your greenhouse, your Youtube channel and of course Mrs. MIgardener and family. Keep up the great work! P.S. I'm from Bay City and am planning a day trip out to your new store soon! Have a blessed day πŸ˜‡πŸ™βœŒοΈπŸ…πŸ«‘πŸ₯”πŸ§„πŸ„πŸ§…πŸ«˜πŸ₯¦πŸ₯’πŸ“πŸ«›πŸŽπŸ₯•

  6. Husband did something like these for the peas he planted. Plot twist the the plants that grew in it were volunteer fuzzy beans and not peas πŸ˜‚

  7. Hello Luke. I just finished watching your video on high intensity spacing. Is that different than intercropping? And just an idea for your seed packets or web site. Would you be willing to add what plants would be good with intensity growing? Hope that makes sense. Or do a more extensive video on this topic. Thanks for all you do. I’m so new to gardening and trying to learn all the things, love the idea of intensity gardening.

  8. I usethis method for peas, cucumbers, cucamelons and make teepees using this method also. Works great, sometimes needs some maintenance but is quick, easy and cheap. I've been doing it for forty years. Last yearIgot some hortanova netting which I really like also and is pretty cheap on Amozon. I wasn'sure I would getmore tnan one season but I will be reusing tbis year. I will seehowitholds up.

  9. And by the way. Thanks for all the brilliant ideas for trellises! Being on a budget this helps out my re than you know. Will be buying all seeds from Ml Gardner next garden season. You rock!!!!

  10. But how do you fertilize them? I would like to see you fertilize the peas to get an idea of how you do it and how much you give. Thank you LukeβŒβ•οΈπŸ™β€οΈ

  11. Appreciate your dedication Luke! πŸ˜„ I used this method before I have the supplies I do now and it was super useful. Hope you got dry and settled in with a warm beverage!

  12. great idea Luke! I have also used leftover polyester yarn in my garden. I do crochet, so I can get creative using yarn in the garden!

  13. I’m going to try this! I have everything at home that I need. Even t-posts would work 🌺

  14. I've been using this version for the past few years, works great. Funny, I bought cattle panels and was going to switch to that, but seeing this I'll stick with the twine version and use the cattle panels somewhere else

  15. Thank you so much! I'm going to plant some peas when I get off work today and I was trying to figure out what I could use at home! I planted peas earlier in the season but my cats dug them up.

  16. Wth is going on with my "Little engine that could/NOT" peas? They seem to be growing super slowly if at all. They were started indoors.

  17. Always nice to see things done on the cheap using things that may already be on hand. Hopefully it wasn't a cold rainy day. Blessings

  18. Would this work for green beans as well? I've only grown bush beans, but wanted to try "Pole" beans but don't have trellis.

  19. Thank you, Luke! I found your channel years ago when I started gardening. I send anyone with questions your way. Anyone who asks where to buy seeds, I send your way. I really appreciate how much you have helped my gardening skills improve over the years. ❀

  20. I did that last year with my tomatoes & a different string but it worked wonderfully. This year I actually used a volleyball net I bought on Temu. So far so good but I think next year I’m going back to this way c

  21. I appreciate your commitment to making another great, new video for us. Rain or shine!

Now go find Mrs. MIGardener and reenact that movie scene. If the rain stops, improvise. 😊

  22. I can't believe you kept your glasses on that whole time. As a glasses wearer since age 3, I know how it is to not want to take them off immediately at the first drop of rain! I don't know how you were able to see what you were doing! I'm going to use this technique from now on since we just tore out our outer fencing this year, so I needed a new solution. Thank you!

  23. β€œIt’s like a scene from the Notebook out here” πŸ˜‚
Great trellising advice, even better humor.
