    Recipe ::::

    Make papdi at home:

    • Wheat flour 1 cup

    • Salt

    • Carom seeds(ajwain)

    • Water

    • 2 tbsp oil for frying

    Preparation:

    1. Make a dough with wheat flour, carom seeds, salt and knead with water until we get a smooth dough.

    2. Make small balls out of the dough and roll like tortillas/rotis.

    3. With a circle shape cutter, cut out small circles.

    4. Fry the papdis in hot oil for 5 to 6 minutes until both sides are golden and crispy.

    5. We can also bake them at 180° for 15 to 20 minutes.

    How to make papdi chaat::

    10 to 15 papdis (we can get papdis at Indian store rather than making at home)

    1/2 potato boiled and crumbled

    3 tbsp white chickpeas (chana)

    1/2 finely chopped onion

    1/2 finely chopped tomato

    2 tbsp bhujia sev(gram flour indian snacks normally used in chaats and can be eaten as snacks)

    Cilantro or coriander leaves

    1 tbsp green chutney (made by making a paste with cilantro, green chillies,  salt , ginger, cumin powder, chaat masala and water)

    1 tbsp tamarind chutney (made by making a paste with tamarind, jaggery and little bit red chilly powder)

    Preparation::

    1. We will make chaat by layering each above ingredient.

    2. In a plate, arrange a layer of papdis we made earlier.

    3. Layer crumbled potato on top.

    4. Layer onion on top.

    5. Add 1 tsp of green chutney, 1 tsp of tamarind chutney on top.

    6. Layer 1 tbsp sev on top.

    7. Layer tomato on top

    8. Now, repeat all above steps again to make one more layer.

    9. We can crumble some papdi at the top. Garnish with cilantro and chaat masala.

    10. And Papdi chaat is ready!

    11. If we add curd(dahi) in between, this will become dahi papdi chaat. As I don’t like much raw curd, I did not use curd.
