So I guess this is a thing now. On their online menu through Square, this is an “item” you can add to your cart, in addition to the tip you can add at the end. What do you think of this?

This item should be labeled “good vibes.” Would you like to add them to your cart?

**Los Angeles needs to ban ALL tips!**

UberEats has been doing this for a while already.

anyways their sandwiches are so good.

This has been a thing since at least the pandemic. And I would much rather tip a restaurant I enjoy directly than just the driver. I’ve even seen it labeled as like “buy the kitchen a beer.”

It’s fine as long they’re not adding it automatically or hidden in fees.

This is good. It’s direct about what it is (not hidden or misleading fees), it’s a clear specific amount (and not a percentage that may or may not be the total before tax/fees/god knows), and it’s entirely optional.

Innovating any way possible except paying their employees more.

Thankfully it’s optional and online versus me ordering my $4 espresso today, the worker flipped the ipad, stared in my eyes while I had to pick $1, $2 or $3 tip lol

One day I’ll build the courage to put no tip on overpriced takeout coffee

I guess my lingering question is how is this different than the tip option that’s offered before you submit your order? Are we saying that the %tip does not go toward their employees?

  10. As someone who has worked for tips, this is insane lmao there’s gonna be like 3 different taxes on this $5 tip

I found out yesterday by eating at Stout Burgers n Beers on Cahuenga that they automatically tip themselves 20% AND AND AND ANOTHER 3.5% for “Health” of staff. bye Felicia. never going back. The service wasn’t even good.

  12. I wouldn’t say avoid Katsu Sando at Topanga Social, but they include gratuity in their bill, then ask how much you would like to tip. Lame as fuck
