I've never tried it before. I live in the desert and wondered if it is difficult to grow. Is it a crop you feel is worth growing? Where did you get the seeds to start it? I have checked for seeds locally and have not found any. I'd have to go on line to find seed. Thanks.

    Wow you have really been working hard and gotten so much done! Isn't it shocking how much stuff it takes to fill those tall beds? We got our newest one filled and sweet potatoes planted in it this week. My son worked so hard filling the top half with compost after I filled the bottom with cardboard, leaves, grass clippings and scraps. A week ago that was exciting because our temperature was averaging daytime 50s and night time 30s/40s. Then this past week it bounced up to daytime 80s/90s and 70s 80s at night. So crazy! I was scared for the plants with all the heat "brewing" under their feet but today it's a good thing because we too are back to being abnormally cold and wet. So crazy! My sister gave me a hummingbird feeder yesterday that she doesn't want anymore and I haven't hung it up yet but the hummingbirds are already here because they are feeding from all the plants. It makes me think of you. Thank you for sharing your garden tour, it's looking good. All the hard work is so worth it! Blessings, happy mother's day, you have a lovely family.

    I took the train by myself to LA to visit my sister when I was 13. The summer between my 8th grade and high school. It was quite an adventure in summer of ‘59. My stepdad worked for railroad so I got pass to travel for free. I had to travel the milk route though. From Portland to Salt Lake, then Las Vegas to LA. I didn’t have sleeping car so I slept in seat the entire time. It wasn’t really that long, less than 24 hours. Most of it was in night. I LOVED LA. I dreamt of surfing with Moondoggie and Sandra Dee (Gidget). I saw Disneyland, Paramount Studios, Warner Bros. And the BEACH!! Ate my first enchilada and fell in love with Mexican food. Such an adventure! I was a very trustworthy child. I can’t imagine this happening with my granddaughter who is now 13. The world has really changed. I’m so happy to have the wonderful memories.
