Finally went to check out Radna Silom today to find some LA health department talking to the stall. They were talking about how their permit wasn’t good enough and how Silom Supermarket (the market they’re posted in front of) needs a food handler/restaurant license to operate the stall :(. If you’ve been meaning to try this place, now’s the time, it’s fantastic!

I dunno, having just recovered from food poisoning, food safety is no joke…

But you can camp, shit, and shoot heroin on the side walk without a permit or harassment.

Had their ladna and pad see ew. Ladna was dope but damn whoever was on the wok that night was on point. That Pad see ew had so much good smoky bits. Great wok cooking. The Son was super friendly and chill. What a great establishment! I’ll have to come back for the pad thai and pad krapow. I bet they do a killer fried rice with those wok skills

Question since you’re buying food from a street vendor, is it any cheaper than the nearby Thai Town restaurants? What do the average dishes cost at that Hollywood near Western location?

I had a college professor who was a health inspector. He told us that he was giving people benefit of the doubt when LA started cracking down on street vendors because he understood they needed to make a living. He would just ask people to take him back to where they stored and prepared the foods…. a lot of them were completely fine. But then there were some major horror stories and after hearing those I’m happy people inspect. It’s really not malicious.

And yes, lots of his horror stories were from actual brick and mortar restaurants. Everything needs to be regulated to a certain extent.

They don’t look LA County health inspectors. Usually health inspectors are in street clothes and have a health department badge hanging from lanyard and always carry a clipboard with storage.

More like code enforcement or LA County staff buying lunch.

OP did you actually see that they were LA County Health Inspector?

  9. I’m sure the food is good, but that bowl looks foul
