Sadly, Dear John’s is permanently closing in two weeks due to their greedy landlord drastically raising the rent (he intends to demolish the place and build apartments). The iconic restaurant opened in 1962, and was frequented by Frank Sinatra and his pals. Today, the food, drinks, and service are still fantastic, and the dimly lit interior is equal parts cozy and romantic. Stop in for dinner or drinks before the end of the month to enjoy this gem one last time.

Oh. Dam. …ok, guess I’m not fancy enough to eat there.
Looks like a fantastic place, tho. I can see why people enjoyed it.

Okay I must know how you got such good photos because whenever I try to take them it’s so dark inside I get nothing! When I checked last week all they had was patio reservations left. I’ll admit I’m also intrigued by turning it into apartments. I would think that corner is zoned for business. How was the endive? I’ve never gotten that.

That lobster thermidor is one of the best lobster dishes I’ve ever had.
