Amboy’s Grizzly at the new Topanga Social ft. Shrimp Daddy behind it

It’s pretty wild to have Amboy and a bunch of other hype food spots in Woodland Hills and all in one place.
Fiancée and I went Tuesday night to avoid the crowds and found the experience a bit mixed.
The good: 1. The Grizzly was excellent and just like the OG in Chinatown. Definitely using the same Bread Bar buns and you could taste the beef tallow in the burger. 2. The experience of the food hall itself was cool in that you have a big open food hall with tons of options to choose from. And an open bar in the middle. 3. Not pictured: Wanderlust was awesome. Had the sticky rice w/ mango ice cream and my fiancée had a wonderful tres leches pandan scoop that was heavenly.
The bad: 1. The kiosks scattered throughout the hall and in front of the booths were misleading. Not all stall items can be ordered via the kiosk so if the restaurant isn’t on there; chances are you wasted your time in line. There’s no clear indication as to which stalls you can order from upfront vs which ones are on the kiosk. 2. Not all places are opened yet. 3. It’s mind blowing that they didn’t anticipate the amount of people that would show up. Over the weekend I heard they ran out of food multiple times. Even the bar there ran out of draft beer (on a Tuesday of all days…) 4. The fries felt like they were refried and not good like the OG location. 5. Shrimp Daddy was pretty mid. Not enough garlic or salt and the Mac salad was somehow dry.
Takeaway: very very dope setup especially for the West Valley which rarely gets anything remotely cool. However, they definitely rushed this launch. Either that or they should have labeled this a soft opening while they work out the kinks. There’s a lot of potential here and I can see this being perpetually busy especially during the brutally hot summer. But the system needs an overhaul and they need to prepare for an army of hungry Valley folks craving some reprieve from the angry sun in the coming months.

What restaurants were available to order on the kiosks?

I think they are having technical issues with the kiosks. Restaurants that are supposed to be on there (and were previously) are no longer on there.
