I’m sure it tasted good, but it looks like you may have overdone the egg a little. Part of the appeal of oyakodon, and other donburis like katsudon is having the runny egg sauce seep down into the piping hot rice, and partially cook in the bowl. What you have here looks like chicken and egg sitting atop a dry bowl of white rice. I know it can be hard to get used to the idea of eating slightly underdone eggs, but when it comes to things like donburi, it’s the whole key to the dish.
