That half-urn looks purposely cut rather than being trash

Did that thing float in on the tide?

Some people on here: if it’s shaped like a physical object, it is basically a plate!

Looks like half a Olla terra cotta watering system

Are those onions or potatoes or chicken it’s served with?

But what is that cat litter looking shit under the urn and all over the spoon?

    Edit: it’s a spoon, not a fork

I kinda dig this one. But the food/picture quality is doing a lot of heavy lifting

Un glazed crockery. That is a hard no.

    Nice picture composition, though.

I sure love my food being served on porous material

I don’t think a properly cut terracotta pot is trash
It’s kind of like they cut it for this purpose.

If that is unglazed clay it is most likely not food safe

I’m in pain imagining the sound of the last spoonfuls of food off this

In Turkey you can get what is called a “testi kebab.” It is cooked in a pot similar to this, and then cracked open when served to you. They are delicious.

If that was served to me, I’d actually call over the waiter and say “would you mind just popping that on a plate for me, sorry to be annoying, just a personal preference, cheers.”

As someone who can’t stand the feeling of rough textures and the sounds of anything rubbing on rough textures, I can hear this photo and I don’t like it.

Should this be cross-posted in r/stupidfood?
