We went to Hold Out this morning for brunch and got the hash brown fries, Japanese pancakes and fried chicken, and fried egg tacos – food was SO good and the service was fantastic, plenty of seating and large covered space. Better Half Cafe is right next door too. Such an awesome spot, will be frequenting there. Can’t believe I saw this on a Facebook ad and haven’t seen them mentioned here yet. Hash brown fries for reference, wish I took photos or our other amazing dishes but we did not.

I love that spot. Lots of good dishes and easy place to relax and have fun with a date or a crowd.

With their brunch menu + burgers/fries (half off double cheeseburger during happy hour!) I think Hold Out is one of the more underrated gems of Austin.

Their chicken sandwich is amazing and is served with a miso ranch. I normally don’t like ranch, but this was delicious.

  4. I have been recommending the chicken & Japanese pancakes on here for a while. Soooooo good. The shared BH/HO patio is a rarity in town where you can get quality food, cocktails & really good craft beer from the source.

Worked the bar there between jobs about 2 years ago, and I’ve never met a group of shittier, miserable people than I have in that kitchen. Excellent beer though, definitely.

Saw their ad the other day, glad to hear it’s worthwhile for brunch. Always enjoyed their burgers.

Nice-N-Clean is the perfect soft landing brunch beer if you’ve had a few too many the night before but also need to be productive that day.
