Just so everyone knows this is NOT a freeze in the style of a frozen margarita/daiquiri it IS a straight up MILKSHAKE. NO idea why they would use this typography/language that implies it’s a slushy-like drink because it…is not.
Not the best way to start dinner and definitely not the best starter before a dozen oysters.

If it’s $12 without booze, I would HOPE that it’s an actual milkshake!

  2. Pretty weak offering as far as these things go, isn’t even thick like a malt or a Frosty – the one we had was just melted ice cream.

Go across the street and get an Iron Whip for $5 at Violet Crown

This whole place was so underwhelming I don’t even have words for it.

Wait, how does this imply slushy? You thought flavors like “cream” and “chocolate” would be icy and not creamy?

Edit: TIL! I have never had a snowcone and had never heard of a “Freeze” or “Freezy”. I thought of slushy as 7/11 and snowcones as only in flavor ice type of syrups.

Aaron Franklin really bombed with this place.

We went yesterday around 6pm. Confusing when you walk in, I thought it was counter service(empty tables outside had a placard stating that). There was no hostess but the counter/bar had wait staff at it grabbing food, no signage indicating what we should do. Saw someone waiting on a table so we grabbed one of three tables available, then found the pile of menus near the door. Waitress did appear quickly thereafter. As mentioned in other comments, no oyster poboy yet raw oysters on the menu, odd. Got the petite app plate which I thought was a good variety, the crab louie was good until you got to the bottom, that’s where the vinegar pool is hiding out. Horseradish was nice and fresh. Oysters were small to medium but given we have gulf coast oyster issues up and down I figured these were from elsewhere, good brine, ok. I definitely prefer big cheap gulf oysters when available in the fall. Got the club poboy(mine), shrimp poboy, wedge salad and small gumbo. Poboy bread is actually good, little bit of crunch but squishes down nice, and handles the fully dressed poboy well. I thought the poboys were very good, the club was stacked, but for $16 should have come with fries or something on the side, that said this town has $15 sandwiches everywhere now. ABGB beer was excellent pairing. Wedge salad had some compliments from dining partner as well as the shrimp poboy, gumbo was mentioned as good but nothing special. The space is nice and fits the intended vibe, I like the limited well laid out menu. Missed opportunity to have this be a bit more casual/cheaper with counter service, although the bar looks really nice did not have anything other than beer. Looked like a good patio from a distance. Bonus, I got a street parking space at the front door. I’ll give it another go.
