Thanks for posting this. While every time you go to a restaurant may not be a perfect experience (maybe even bad), people are too quick to condemn based on a single experience.
As a former restaurant employee (from dishwasher to manager), people are far more likely to complain than to praise.
Finally, there are far too many “foodies” in this town who think they are the reincarnation of Anthony Bourdain.

Gotta admit I ended up on yelp last night laughing in bed reading the torchys south Congress by slaughter page. I was cackling. Such crazy stories that I kinda think I may drive over in a couple minutes to get a couple just for the experience

Belterra one used to be really really bad. Like wait and hour for a bad taco bad. However, they changed something a little while ago and it’s been much better. Faster service, better portions, etc. my main issue is that they never change their menu and I always stick with choosing between the 3 healthyish items.

I have NEVER seen the tacos I’ve ever ordered at Torchy’s look like this. As a former owner/operator of various establishments, I can guarantee that these tacos were made specifically for the purpose of advertising on social media.
I’m familiar with enough food social media marketing and personal to be aware of this. Don’t be fooled. Torchy’s social media person posted this after they got ripped a new one recently on this subreddit.

Do we have to start an AustinFood Torchys heat map?! 😂 I definitely find their locations inconsistent at best. When it’s good it’s good and when it’s not it’s so disappointing. Some of the locations are just gross.
