I’m confused, did yours break? I have a locking lid (for travel), but I’ve locked it many times while cooking because I’ve found it helps it to build up steam and get up to temp much quicker.

Never heard of this. Locking helps build up steam. Why would the latches be for storage only?

Lock mine all the time and never had any issues.
