Recipe/cost breakdown, shopped at Walmart in KS, USA:

1lb macaroni noodles ($0.98/lb)
1 pork loin, prepared as desired ($6.05, 3.5lbs @ $1.84/lb)
2 12-oz bags frozen broccoli cuts ($1.76)
4 tablespoons butter/margarine ($1.58/lb)
4 tablespoons flour ($1.16/2lb bag)
~1.5 cups milk ($1.92/0.5 gallon)
1 pound extra sharp cheddar cheese ($3.68/1lb block)
Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and other seasonings as desired

Prepare pork loin in any way you like, but today I seared and braised it for a little over an hour, looking for an internal temperature ~140F. Boil noodles according to package directions and drain. Make sauce by combining butter and flour to make a roux, then slowly add milk until you reach your desired thickness. Let cheese melt and incorporate until homogeneous. Add back noodles, cooked and sliced pork, and broccoli, and let sit until heated through. Season as desired. SERVES 7-10 ($1.05-$1.50/serving).

This was my first time making this, and I honestly love it. It’ll probably be more of a special occasion dinner in my house, but it’s worth every minute. Solid 8/10 from me. Let me know what y’all think!
