  1. Well done Ivan, you are a great mentor and I have increased my planting this year after discovering your channel. I never have any joy with carrots though… one day I will crack it.

  2. Yes I have fond memories of being on the allotment with my Dad prob around 6 yrs old, I remember dropping the bucket down the well to get water as there was no mains, I was not tall enough to wind the handle to get the bucket back up though 😄 That was a nice crop of first earlies last year Ivan well done, I am just the opposite because I always struggle to beat spuds grown in the ground. containers. never really had good results with tubs bags or whatever, put a few in this year in Jan and got the usual result but its nice to have even a small new spuds early May. My ground crop earlies will be harvested next week so I can get my beans in and I think I will be getting a bumper crop, they have really swelled up this last 10 days, just harvested broad beans today great crop of them and Broccoli going in their place this week. Cheers.

  3. This has been a treat for me following your progress this year. Sorry about your little store selling plants, but glad we gained your knowledge because you started this channel.

  4. My grandfather spent hours on his allotment. Now I’m retired i understand why. Thank you for sharing your knowledge so i can try to be successful on my allotment This is year 1

  5. You do some great videos! I returned to gardening when covid hit and my work slowed way down, and then stopped a while when I had my last child. It's something I'm coming back to from a long absence. I'm sorry you couldn't recover the shop, because i suspect something like that would be doing very well with the economy where it is. Lots of first time "growing your own" ers out there right now. I hope this channel is even more successful, it is well done and I have told others to check it out.

  6. Ivan I’ve recommended you to so many people. Have only grown a couple of tomato plants and peppers this year but still watch your videos x

  7. You could start a new video channel on how to edit video’s and download on you tube – if it’s as clear as your gardening tips we could all pick it up easy 👍

  8. I was brought up gardening my grandad had a huge back garden. Packed full of fruit and veg. But I remember all the neighbours grew their own also. I particularly remember the local farmer dumping a huge pile of manure at end of street and all the neighbours out with there wheelbarrows. 😅 Me and my brother thought it was funny until grandad gave us a fork and a wheelbarrow. 😂 I still use cow manure but I have to go and fetch it from farmers field somethings didnt change 😂

  9. Thank you for all the advice you give on everything I’ve started this year and you’re tips have helped me out a lot it’s been very helpful watching you’re channel 👍🙏

  10. Glad you started the channel. My husband has been ill since Covid began so I’ve had to take over the gardening. Last year I got some annuals then got some shrubs and this year I’ve started growing some vegetables. And it’s been so valuable to watch you and learn from you. Long may the channel continue…

  11. Thanks for sharing your back story. Sorry to hear you were a victim of the business closures, the pandemic was brutal for small businesses 😢 but hey ho your channel has really taken off!

  12. Love your videos, they have helped me so much. I haven't been subscribed for long but I am a regular everyday now. Thank you

  13. Ivan, you're a joy to watch – my wife Val and I are into our 3rd year of gardening after 45 years of being married!
Wish we'd started years ago – there's so much to learn.
Thanks for your videos, we're now regulars to your channel.

  14. So glad you started this channel Ivan. I've learnt so much from you as a newbie. I look forward to watching your videos in the evenings and today was no exception. Love how you made it personal as well. Well done you.

  15. Love stories like this. You have inspired me, I ordered a greenhouse yesterday as I'm using the wilko plastic one.
Keep on doing what you are doing because now I've found you I'm not letting go 😂❤

  16. You can’t keep a good man down. Well done Ivan. We don’t have a full size green house but a mini one attached to the rear wall of our house and is south facing, it extends the season for sure. We are completely containerised which is why I like your channel..This year we are growing 1st earlies, maincrop potatoes, indeterminate tomatoes (4) determinate tomatoes (2), cucumbers (2), cabbage, turnip, brussel sprouts and of course salad crops. We are a bit further north up in Scotland so are a week or two behind you but we are coming on. Keep on growing.❤

  17. I’m new to gardening and love watching your channel. I’ve learned so much from you so far and have been having great results with my fruit and veg all thanks to you 🌱
