For the Win just opened their smash burger joint in Grand Central Market (south side, across from Olio). Single cheeseburger add tomato (50¢) and lettuce (50¢). $12 with tip.

Inside looks nasty!!!
I never tip at a to go place unless there is exceptional service or generous add on. Save your money.

Any review on actual taste of burger?
Cause photo #2 looks like a number 2.

They literally sold you $0.001 of lettuce for $0.50
Place looks like I a joke. I wouldn’t pay $4 for that piece of crap.

FTW is the most overrated burger joint we have IMO. I went once and they took incredibly long to make two burgers, staff was rude and they weren’t very good. Then I kept seeing people recommend it and had to give it another chance… same thing, service seemed to not want anyone there, and a very basic smashburger that can’t compete with the best places.
Burgers can vary wildly depending on the cook, so maybe people have had better burgers from the place, but most of the other highly touted places (Goldburger, Heavy Handed, etc.) have been much better every time and usually with better service (esp. Goldburger) so I see no reason to go back.

I went to their Hollywood location once and it was one of the best burgers I’d ever had. But this one looks nasty lol

The one in Hollywood is good. Not the best smash but it’s up there. My top 5 is:
1. The Win-dow 2. GoldBurger 3. Burger She Wrote 4. BNSD 5. Chris N Eddy’s

Looks like someone took a dump in a bun.

damn ive been wanting to try FTW for a while now but after these comments maybe not, I wonder if its just the GCM location and the other locations are better?

With smaller mom and pop type places, I give them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to one off bad experiences. But for places like FTW, I’d name and shame them in social media. That’s a ridiculous upcharge for the lettuce and tomato. The burger looks like crap and $12 even in today’s inflation prices is a rip off for what you got. To get bad service on top of that?

I remember for $12 you can get Belcampo’s burger. And now, after the pandy, we have this smashburger nonsense for the same price. GTFO.
