Dropped in to Yamas on its grand opening night. Itβs near Mopac/2222, on Balcones just down the road from Chez Zee. Space used to be Westwood Gastropub but I think itβs been vacant since early in the pandemic.
Itβs full of life now, such a lively costal Greek style dining room and bar. Saw big party dinners happening, fancy dates, people sharing food at the bar. Lots of beautiful women, too. Iβm shocked an upscale neighborhood place is keeping hours so late. Currently the kitchen serves until 11pm, boss says bar stays open later on weekends as needed. Awesome to have the good food late at night option.
Iβm trying to eat light, so my main dish was the Mediterranean Linguine. Probably the best value pick on the menu at $22. Feta, olives, fresh made pasta, solid seasoning and not too salty, all good stuff. With appetizers it would be enough pasta for two people to spilt. What I couldnβt finish tasted great as lunch the next day.
Also had a Spanakopita the size of a plate and a beautiful mixed beet salad.
Still a lot Iβd like to try. Staff says all the seafood is a hot seller, sardines are so popular theyβre barley able to keep in stock.
Specialty cocktails are $17 across the board. I had a couple so smooth and flavorful I could have taken them as extra large shots but I kept it classy and nursed them.
One of the owners said they live a few blocks from the restaurant and are there all the time. Good luck to them, theyβre off to a good start!

That looks yammy.
Sorry, I had to.
Got on just to see if anyone had reviewed this place yet. Your photos are awesome. And now I want to try these sardinesβ¦
What is that first dish called? Looks like something I wanna get into.
Whats that 2nd pic with the bread. God damn looks fire.
$17 cocktail that βcould have been a large shot.β
Damn?! You can pick up a bottle for that..
Looking at that spanakopita pic made me pregnant.
Thanks, glad my photos could inspire your craving for fishy goodness ππ
>costal Greek style
Any seafood dishes on the menu?
Looks great, will try it , thanks for sharing the good news OP
Edit: wow after reading Google map reviews I don’t know if I can go anymore…with a young child, I would not want to go to a restaurant when the music is too loud or meh customer service…
Thanks, happy to be your enabler for sardine cravings π€£π
>Lots of beautiful women, too.
