My fridge was playing up so I’ve only been buying bits and pieces the past month. But I finally got around to defrosting & cleaning it, so time to go wild at the local Eurospin!

I’ve got some staples already : pasta, rice, flour, tom puree, onions, garlic, potatoes, eggs, tinned borlotti etc. Croccantini for the dog (pate to go on top in pic). Also a lump of wonderful Provolone cheese and some ok-ish salami that might not be so ok after dodgy fridge…

Fresh fruit & veg fairly cheap at the moment, convenient as it’s hot out.
I forgot to get frozen things. Should have got some white fish, peas, maybe spinach.

Before displaying, I expected this lot would do well on a scale of processing. Solids, not bad – not sure about pane pugliese white bread, also instant noodles are totally evil (which I’ll suppliment with a tin of sgombro to provide nutrition).

Let myself down on liquids. But as I don’t drink wine these days, what choice have I? (Ok, beer, but not an excuse for energy drinks…).

This lot came to €51. Mostly things just over a euro. Except 3 etti of extra-lean beef mince, a bottle of monastery beer (sorry, it’s Belgian) and the peanut oil I just noticed was €3.39!! Only got it because the decent olive oil was ~€7. Back to sunflower next time.
