Had it since July 4th and don’t know what the brown spots are?

I mean, the brown on the beef is fine but the fat does look rather yellow. I think if it smells ok then cook it, if it still smells ok give it a try and if it tastes ok, eat it! *I’m not qualified, just a man of the world! Ps, 4th July was two days ago…it’s probably fine!

The brown is oxidation. The steak is fine. Some people hang steak until it goes almost green and cheesy and still eat it.
Your steak is well within eating range and if you are worried, just sear it at a slightly higher heat as any bacteria will be a the outside.
