I recently discovered the budget bytes website and they list the price for the total recipe and per serving. It may help depending on what kind of food you like.
Tacos- save all the extra ingredients for left overs and for breakfast tacos/breakfast burritos (add egg) and potato
Spaghetti- make it into a casserole and have left overs for days
Grilled Chicken, broccoli and Rice a roni (family pack)
Sandwich: use some of the ingredients from tacos for toppings (cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion)
Check out budget bytes. It’s a great app that breaks meals down by ingredient cost. Coupled with the super chef app it can really stretch your money. Super chef has you log all the items in your fridge and pantry and spice cabinet then scours the internet searching for recipes you have all the ingredients for. It’s extremely helpful and gives you ideas you might otherwise not think of.
Pasta, beans, eggs, rice, potatoes in bulk. A good spice blend (curry or taco) and a good hot sauce. Frozen veggies in bulk, they’re super cheap. Get whatever protein is on sale and get a bunch. Whatever block cheese is on sale. Bread and tortillas. Butter, canned tomatoes, capers (I love caper butter pasta so this is a weird one), milk, and sour cream. That should be about $120ish so you can get some other favorites.
Now mix and match- burritos, fried eggs and hash, curry and rice, creamy pasta, quesadillas, leftover meat sandwiches, nachos, tomato pasta with meat, fried rice, veggies plus meat plus roasted potatoes, frittata, refried beans, etc. lots of options to give you some variety!

Chicken, salsa, crockpot
Spaghetti
Large packs of chicken breasts are always a good deal where I live, so I do a lot of meals based on that. They are sold in packs of 6 and I split those down the middle for fileted like pieces. I freeze 6 and use the other 6 halves that week –
Chicken, rice, mushrooms, Broccoli, carrots, teriyaki sauce
Chicken alfredo (most people can’t handle alfredo jar sauce but it’s cheap and I like it. You can also just do butter noodles l)
Chicken tacos/burritos
Bbq Chicken sandwiches
Garlic chicken, roasted potatoes, fresh green beans
Chicken pita sandwiches/chicken wraps
Chicken nachos/tot-chos
The Walmart app is the absolute cheapest way to shop. You can compare prices by weight and check out the great value brand for quality store brand stuff. Even if you don’t use the app for a purchase, you can use it to make a shopping list.
