I know Death in Venice’s Cheeseboard won some awards, but I found the flavours way too subtle. Faint hints of pear, brie, wine, but intense enough. That sort of goes for a lot of their flavours – great ideas, but usually a bit muted.
Nani’s Tiramisu (as well as Good Gang’s Ca Phe Misu) are both fun – chunks of tiramisu ladyfingers/savoiardi in the ice cream.
Daan Go’s Black Sesame and their Matcha are both great – surprising, since I found their cakes inventive but execution lacking.
Of course, also have to mention the many gelato spots around town – Bar Ape prob is still be best intensity and best value, particularly their pints.
