I ordered this bowl from a restaurant for lunch and was wondering if anyone could help me estimate how many calories are in it. It had spinach, carrots, cucumber, cauliflower steak, a small scoop of edamame, jasmine rice (~3/4 cup) 5 jumbo sautéed shrimp, avocado, and honey lime vinaigrette (which I used about half of). Let’s see:
For all the veggies I’d assume 30-50 is a good guess, most of it coming from the carrots though🥕🥒.
For the cauliflower steak I’d say 80-100 would do, since cauliflower is relatively low in calories (25 per 100g) and the cooking oil should add 50 or so 🥦
I can’t see the edamame but I’m assuming a small scoop is around 40g, which is 50 calories.
3/4 of jasmin rice would be 180 calories 🍚
Per shrimp I’d count 18 each, so 90 for all 🦐
1/4 of an avocado is 80 calories 🥑
The dressing is a bit harder to estimate, 1 tbsp of honey lime vinaigrette is around 50 per tbsp so I’d just count 70.
Total: 520-620 calories!

I’m going with 800. I’m expecting there to be hidden calories in restaurant food.
