Hello,

The 8in version of the Thai Mortar and Pestle that [Kenji recommends](https://www.seriouseats.com/best-mortars-and-pestles) has been out of stock for a long time, and now does not even show as an option of the [product page](https://www.amazon.com/DDPremium-MMTP72V-Granite-capacity-Natural/dp/B000163N6G/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3SHL2D52E7OM&keywords=M.V.+Trading+Kruk+Thai+Stone+Mortar+and+Pestle%2C+2%2B+Cup+Capacity%2C+7+inch%2C+Natural+Granite+Color&qid=1689258809&s=home-garden&sprefix=%2Cgarden%2C96&sr=1-1&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.18630bbb-fcbb-42f8-9767-857e17e03685).

Anyone have a recommendation for an equally high quality 8in mortar and pestle?

  2. I love the Molcajete from Masienda. Highly recommend. It’s beautiful and works great for smushing up Thai food

In case you’re not dead set on the 8” one, I got the 7” mortar & pestle and it works great! Haven’t used it a ton yet, but haven’t felt it was lacking for what I have made

I went to my local Asian grocery store and bought one for about $50. I can’t compare the two, but I love mine, it checks all Kenji’s boxes: heavy, granite, sturdy, unpolished interior. At the end of the day it’s just a badass stone and I’ve had no issues creating all the spices and pastes from his recipes.
