  1. Wow, what a nice give away I have not yet tried that variety I live in lakeland and have a 200, square-foot above ground garden area and love love love being in the garden early early early in the morning. Thanks again.

  2. Me, me, me, pick me 🙂 I am a new gardener this summer season. I started some seeds back in late March and have spent every day since May hand picking and squishing little green caterpillars off my zucchini and yellow squash plants. I have learned that it's not the best time for these in SW Florida and I should have started earlier. But I will not give up. I keep trying to grow lettuce indoors from my store bought scraps, but I don't get much more than a handful before it dies or bolts. I love salad, and I eat it almost every day. I have recently purchased several varieties of greens to try to grow in the coming months. I'm right on the line between Zones 9B and 10A and I would love to add your Ethiopian Kale to the mix this fall. Thank you for all your great advice and for sharing your practical knowledge.

  3. I've tried to grow kale but the rabbits always eat it befote I get any or it just gets too 🔥. I didn't know there was a heat tolerant variety! I'm in the Florida panhandle so i get the struggles. Only my fourth year growing a garden so every year us a learning year 😁.

  4. My husband and I just moved to a new home and im trying to expand my summer garden, im trying new things and sharing with my friends so I’d love to try this Ethiopian kale!!

  5. Hi, thank you for your Florida information. It hit 105 on the back porch yesterday. I do my gardening early. I planted raw peanuts, shelled, that I bought at the grocery store. My sweet potatoes are growing strong, also from the grocery store. Do you start your fall vegetables now or in August?

  6. I just got my tumbling compost bin and have started putting my kitchen scraps and paper waste. I think I put too much water so I will have to be more conscious of that.

  7. Hello Katrina! I am a new subscriber and I enjoy your videos! I am going to take up your neglected summer garden challenge!

  8. I am so glad I found you. I am in Central Florida and I restarted gardening this year. I did not know about how to plant the sweet potatoes and I just popped for sweet potatoes from last November into the ground. I now have a front yard full of sweet potato leaves. Which I have found out are pretty tasty and goes well with the iceberg lettuce I pick up at the store.

  9. Hello from Ft. Lauderdale, FL! Discovered your channel this week & have learned so much already! Started growing herbs & vegetables for the first time this spring (peppers & ginger ). My only child is leaving for college & needed a hobby, but discovered how rewarding it feels to grow your own food! I enjoy kale in smoothies, salads & even baked as a chip. Would love an opportunity to grow Ethiopian kale.

  10. I’m trying to find a green to grow in the summer to put in our smoothies. Maybe the Ethiopian kale would be a good one! I’d love to try it!!

  11. I LOVE kale and since moving to Florida 4 years ago I have been struggling to find greens that grow during the hot wet summers and would love to try Ethiopia Kale!
PS red Malabar spinach was an early discovery for me, grows fantastic in my yard and so far is my most tasty green.
Thanks for all your great videos!

  12. I live in Georgia Zone 8b. I seeded Ethiopian kale in February and transplanted a few days after Easter. They bolted within a few weeks. I was so disappointed! Next year I'll direct sow as you recommend.

  13. I live in north central Florida, and I am new to gardening. I've unsuccessfully tried to grow herbs in the past and gave up after so many failures. I'm so happy that after years of not even trying to garden, I have recently grown heirloom tomatoes from seedlings that my mom shipped to me as a surprise gift! I don't have a green thumb, so I am so excited that my tomatoes survived and are thriving! Now I'm ready to take on my favorite vegetable…kale! My husband and I eat SO MUCH kale that it makes sense to try to grow our own. I'm hoping to try a variety that will be successful in this intense Florida heat, and I'm following your channel for tips. I would love to try the Ethiopian kale as my next endeavor!

  14. My luffa is doing good.Sweet potatoes and egyptain spinach is doing good. We started a pineapple as well. Love your videos

  15. Can you please give me information on your shed behind you? I love it. Do you have a video of it being installed? Where is it sold?❤ I live in North Florida zone 8b. I just found your channel. I’ve been searching for a good channel for my area. I’m so happy to find you!!

  16. I am a first year gardener.I planted black eyed peas,6 types of peppers, watermelon, pumpkin, kale, tomatoes and a ton more and herbs.Everything is doing great! Just found your video today.

  17. So happy to find a Florida gardener !! I have the GreenStalk and have not been terribly successful. Just one planting I have done. My main problem I believe is the HEAT and then torrential downpours. Yay lol. I don’t have any shade and live in an HOA (ugh) and I am trying to determine if I can do some sort of sunshade ? Or something. I’m a newbie and will persevere 😅. Thanks for all your tips. Btw I’m in Central Fl. Deland

  18. 🎉hi Petrina! Loved your videos as always! I would LOVE LOVE to win the giveaway and try Ethiopian Kale. I planted red russian kale back in spring and we liked it but the peppery taste my kids didn't like it😅 so maybe they would like Ethiopian kale. It would be a nice addition to my small garden😊thank you

  19. we would love to try this in our green stalk! my boys favorite snack from the garden is kale, though we have never tried the Ethiopian variety. thanks for the video!

  20. I was able to grow 1 pineapple and it was delicious! The rest were eaten by racoons. Any ideas on how to keep those darn critters away?

  21. I would like try your Etiopian Kale.
My Russian kale lost the fight with the bugs. Please let me be the winner!!
