  1. I struggle with making things look nicer and more organized…I just have a few green stalks, a stock tank and a ton of grow bags. Sprinkler head positions in my yard are what limit where I can put additional raised beds.

  2. Do your purple coneflowers come back every year? I heard the stock at nurseries is from the north and thus isn't perennial in Florida and can be hard to find the perennial.

  3. Bought an 8 ft VegeGa bed and have Beauregard sweet potatoes growing in it. They are doing fantastic! I'm also growing tons of peppers and dehydrating them. Our tomatoes are done. This video has me excited again for fall. Love your energy!

  4. What does it mean when plants get leggy? I've heard it several times but haven't heard the explanation of what it is and why it makes your plant unproductive

  5. My first chip drop was a bust. They tried driving across the lot next door which is all sand, so they got stuck and had to call a tow truck. They didn't speak English, so they just left and didn't drop anything. I made a new request, and put in big letters "DO NOT DRIVE ACROSS THE LOT NEXT DOOR!".

  6. Great video, thanks for all the information. I also keep an Excel spreadsheet with a list of all my best performer varieties for each veggie and the inventory so I never run out of them.

  7. I like that you are always accessing and changing. Cause I’m evolving and moving things but feel like I messed up. But actually not messing up but growing. ( pun intended 😅). I’m cleaning up now and will use planner to map out fall garden. Just so very hot.

  8. I have a four foot high plastic shed with doors on front that has a flat top that flips up on a hinge. It sits up against the back of the house out of the sun, so I keep a 1020 tray with 8 4-cells in it with seedling mix in it to germinate my seeds out of the sun, at first. Seedlings there face east to get morning sun and it has worked out well because of light and it's under the house eve and out of the rain. I have a bunch of seedlings sprouting now. I'm getting ready to plant elephant garlic bulbs and start some Texas sweet and red onions from seed. I have zucchini, green beans, and cucumbers growing. Most of my spices are in grow bags and they have been moved to partial shade to overwinter. Some are still loving the weather strangely. I'm in Seminole, FL, not far from you.

  9. Your videos always get me motivated and excited about my garden.😊 This fall I'm going to plant extra tomato and bell pepper plants to donate to the local food pantry. I called to see if they accept fresh produce and they do.

  10. I love your purple coneflowers! I have tried multiple times to grow them here north of Tampa with no success. Do you have a secret for growing them so well? I use the roots to make my favorite antibiotic so really need some help.

  11. I've loved having a vegetable garden for the last several years, all raised beds but I'm moving out of state after the first of the year so, here's my quandry…how do I prep my back yard for new people? I am so unsure how to do this…

  12. Hi friend! I love your proactive approach. I still struggle with the veggies and the bunnies and the squirrels 🐿️. You are giving me ideas for my small area available for veggies. Hoping that with the taller beds I don't have the same problem.
FYI I keep getting a timeout error on the veggega link

  13. I just downloaded your planner! Looking forward to having it help me and my daughter who both have executive function and planning challenges. I think it’s going to help a lot. I’ve done great with native plants for native bees (I am the founder of the Florida native bees fb group) but I’ve struggled with food gardening and your videos have been sooooo helpful. We have a poinciana we planted 7 years ago before we switched to native gardening and debated taking it down but it’s our only tree in the back yard for now so we just keep the side branches heavily trimmed. And last year we planted a false tamarind under the side of it and will more heavily cut the poinciana back at that time. Maybe that gives you some ideas. Keep up the great work!
Oh and I planted my Seminole pumpkin way too late 🙁 and it’s still running across the yard about 20’ out now but it’s only just got its first bloom but nothing otherwise. Should I just let it keep going amd hope for the best for this year and start earlier next year?

  14. Great information. One question though. When exactly is it best to start the seedlings for cool weather crops? This is still not clear to me. I don’t want to start them and have our Florida heat destroy them.

  15. Hi Jacqueline, I just bought the 2023 Downloadable Planner this morning and it still hasn't made it to my inbox. I checked my spam/junk folder multiple times and it's not there either. Went to make sure the purchase actually went through and it shows charged on my credit card records. Wanted to reach out to you another way but couldn't find a way to contact you via your website so figured I'd try to connect here. Any info you could provide on how to troubleshoot this would be greatly appreciated. I'm eager to put my 2023 Fall Planner to good use!

  16. This is not a Fall garden plan! This is the Wild Floridian garden kick off for the '23-'24 year! So many good ideas to start the juices flowing, get the overwhelming projects chunked, prioritized, and underway or scheduled, all in the comfort of A/C. I haven't done anything for fall yet, but seeing the roadmap gives me clarity.
Love the coneflowers in the background and the butterflies circling, like they knew they were the stars of the channel. You and Ben are a perfect garden duo; love how you talk and plan things through, execute, and review (it doesn't hurt that you two are adorable together even doing messy summer garden work).

  17. Can you tell us which plants you picked? The hardest part for me is deciding what I even want to plant.

  18. Hi Jacqueline!! You motivated me to go and get natives and I can tell you today, 3 months after, my garden is full of butterflies!!! Everywhere!! I enjoy spending time outside and trying to identify as many butterflies as I can 😂 thank you!!!

  19. How I handle seedlings outside. I put them under the understory plants. I also have tropicals in pots that I have to bring inside a greenhouse in winter. I start peppers and tomatoes right in the giant pots with my tropicals. The plants I grow seedlings under will slow down the rain and filter the sun.
