Asked for extra garlic sauce on the side. I could eat a tub of it with just a spoon.

Try the chicken tarna and don’t sleep on the tahini sauce too. Best things there imo.

I’ve only had the chicken there because I was told I must try it. They weren’t wrong. It was chicken made right. Moist, flavorful, and delicious. Slather on some of their garlic sauce and your taste buds will be in heaven.

Thank God for the second pic. Otherwise, I’d be worried.

Try their baba ganoush instead of hummus next time

Forgot to mention: shared it with my sister. Neither of us were hungry but we cleaned the plate lol

I used to work at Warner Brothers in Burbank, and this was my go to when I was out and about. Think Thomas Guide days. 😂

So stoked that we are getting one here in Long Beach really soon!! I haven’t had Zankou in years!!

Maybe I’m the odd man out. I think the food taste/quality at Zankou is OK, but I would never tell someone “it’s so good”.

What IS great about Zankou is that it’s very fast service at a reasonable price. Go to most other Persian, Israeli, or Armenian restaurants in the Basin and the service is much slower and at 40% higher prices.

i go to zankou weekly, love everything except their rotisserie chicken 😂

  10. If you think that’s good, try Massi’s (the main one in Glendale Blvd, not the one in the mall). Add a big tub of white garlic sauce to your order and you’ll thank me later. Your housemates, not so much, since you will stink for about 3 days if you finish the tub.

norm macdonald used to have an arrangement with them. he would give them money and, in return, they would give him some Zankou Chicken

Best garlic sauce! I love that place so much!

You can tell the kabob is juicy. I’m so tired of dry kabob. 9’/10 Mediterranean places cook the hell out of it.

Which location? The one downtown doesn’t have the yellow peppers anymore. I love them and miss them.

First, and hopefully last? Cause LA has moved on, just like JGold has. May his memories be a blessing.

Love this place! Their garlic spread is everything

The chicken is great but that rice tho.

Pro tip: Trader Joe’s sells a tub of garlic sauce that tastes exactly like what Zankou sells, perfect for adding to any meals you please

Welcome to the Armenian side of the food cuisine of LA! We are happy to have you and will never leave you with an empty stomach! 🙂

If you want a fancier version of this with much more options, I highly suggest Raffi’s place!

Skaafs or Skaffs on Coldwater is solid as fuck. That whole area of North Hollywood has some really good Kabob spots. I grew up on Zankou and it is solid and fast. I dig the one on Sunset by the Children’s Hospital. Kabob Factory on woodman by Rigos tacos is pretty good too.
