I have mentioned this delicious meal in replies recently and it sparked considerable interest. Tonight I went by and took some pictures, got the exact location, hours and a photo of his other offerings. What I order, which is honestly one of my favorite things in LA, is called “Papa con Mantequilla.” It’s basically a baked potato in foil that is split open and slightly charred with butter on the grill. It comes with your choice of meat, but I get rice, beans, onions and peppers on mine, then cover it with salsa and cilantro. It comes with 4 handmade tortillas. It might seem a little pricey ($15), but I think it’s delicious and worth it. I have only seen this offered at a couple of other places in town.
His stand is at the corner of Vail Avenue and Condor Street. He is there everyday from 5-11:30, and open an extra hour on Friday and Saturday. They don’t speak much English but are very friendly.

Ughhh the papa con queso with carne adobada or asada on top, with crema and all the toppings 💯
