Recently completed the EMP modification on my Linea Mini. Installing the mod is not particularly fast, easy or cheap, but was up for a challenge and wound up enjoying myself during process courtesy of the detailed instructions laid out by Rick Bond.
I was initially drawn to the Linea Mini due to its looks and form factor over other LM models. Overtime I became more curious about the benefits of pressure profiling, and luckily this mod existed to enable this functionality without needing to replace the machine I loved.
While I do lose out on some features like auto back flushing, the added flexibility to try out a wide range of profiles seems like a worthy trade off in my view. Plus there’s something satisfying in hearing the motor ramp up and down in line with the paddles movement eg. Strada EP. The precision and control when adjusting pressures is much better than I expected.
Anyway, I don’t see myself going back to stock configuration after all of this, so there’s a like-new LMLM pump/motor assembly now up for sale if anyone is interested!
