Someone posted a menu from the newly opened Que Divino recently and the replies had people complaining about them charging for chips and salsa and vowing never to go.
I went this weekend and happy to report a basket of chips and salsa came with my order, no charge, no questions asked. They do offer Totopos w/ Queso or Salsa, and Nachos for $9-$10.
I got the Queso Birria Tacos. I have a pretty hearty appetite and I could barely finish the three tacos. It’s tasty for sure but a salty, greasy meal I wouldn’t eat on the regular. Let me try those veggie tacos next time.
These guys have a food truck out in Hutto and do a lot of catering so the restaurant gives them a kitchen base in Austin to do more of that.
Wasn’t too busy on the Saturday afternoon I had lunch there. Bartender said they get busy for happy hour and they do a lot of breakfast business.
Here’s that menu post:

Hmm menu didn’t describe what type of tortilla. We’re they all corn? Or is that flour?
Might be off topic (sort of) but my new favorite Birria tacos are at Masa y Mas on South Lamar. They come with the consumé and are just incredible.
Yeah, I posted that. We haven’t been back and we live a block away. As I mentioned, the breakfast tacos are big but nothing special, IMO. I’ve been wanting to try the breakfast plate. The happy hour is 3-6 and they have $6 tall boys and $6.50 Margaritas. Their website is basically non-existent as far as info on the menu or the place. I’ve talked to the manager on the phone and they are basically soft opening right now ironing out stuff on the menu and adding daily specials. I wanted to ask about the tacos. I know it’s a picture but those look greasier than most and not really appetizing. That doesn’t mean they aren’t good.
I still think if the prices stay the same as the menu they had 2 weeks ago, it won’t be around long. I’m waiting a month and/or until the website comes up. I really do like the breakfast menu and that’s probably why they are getting busy at that time with the neighborhood trying it out. The last bougie-priced Mexican food place that tried serving average food for a high price lasted 3 months. It’s 5280 Burgers now.
In addition, where the Taco Shack on Spicewood that’s famous for its eggshell watery tacos, utter lack of air conditioning, and surly staff closed. It’s going to be a new taco place soon and I’m stoked for that. Hey, love your posts and your other social media, I follow you on IG and check your blog out occasionally.
If Queso Birra Tacos are being mentioned, someone has to throw Pepe’s name out there. Pepe’s Tacos, the food truck on Lamar. In the parking lot of frozen rolls creamery
