Excessive heat is beginning to take a toll on us. It just seems that those who are running, our government are completely oblivious, or not in it for the great people of the United States and the state of Texas. Ercot continues to threaten us with cutting off electricity. This never used to happen. Our solar has been delayed because much of that money went to the engine of my truck and now we’re having to reevaluate what we think we can do. We do have our generators ready and fuel on hand. Y’all be safe and thanks for letting me vent.

Texas knows better! I see this on a smaller scale in our small town. Housing additions going in so fast. “Cheap” (not inexpensive) houses built in 45 days. The city does not have the infrastructure to provide water to that many as they already dry but their water from Oklahoma City. I’m thankful to be on a well. Prayers you do not lose power at all. If folks haven’t experienced 108, it’s hard to imagine. We had a summer with 108 so many days (more than 20, but I think almost 30), then a summer we hit 110. It’s unbearable.
Jill would you be interested in doing a presentation on North Texas Gardening at the Family Nutrition Center in Cleburne? They have a monthly Garden Group that meets and I know they would love to have you join them or just do a presentation ☀️🥰
I wish I could give y'all some of our rain. Today the ground is muddy. Isn't that the way it always goes. Some have too much and others not enough. I was told years ago in the desert to water at night. It has more time to penetrate without evaporation. Don't really know if it makes a difference. Blessings to all. Prayers too.
I’m from Arlington go for it. I’m have trouble keeping my garden alive
They need to quit with the electric cars!!! And yes to Comm’l bldgs having solar.
Hey for Cleburne, Neighbor. The only thing I've been consistantly planting this year has been my beloved goats. 😪 Keep preaching!
I'm in Kopperl, Tx located south of Cleburne, Tx- I, too am having a hard time getting seeds started. I have given my quails and rabbits pans of water to wade in or sit in and they use them daily and of course their cages are under a canopy. They both have fans also blowing right on them. I have lost 3 rabbits due to heat stroke. Terrible to see. They went to freezer camp. I tried giving the rabbits bottles of frozen water but they just eat the plastic bottle. My sweet potatoes are doing great. The ducks and chickens love to eat the leaves. It's the only thing green around here. Stay cool
Praying for rain❤. It’s coming ❤️🙏
Watching from my 2nd day at lunch of my new Corp job I went back to for now, we take cooled tomatoes to our chickens, have a solar fan on them and refresh their water every other day
Over here in Rains County, we just had a ditch fire (fairly large) last Thursday. We don't know how it started, but luckily the fire departments all converged and got it put out before the fire reached the one of the adjacent fields full of freshly bailed hay. Still scary for the few neighbors out at this end of the county. I do hope it cools off soon and you all are safe over there.
Im sooo with u.
All that ninja/ninjo crap they talked about cold rainy winter last year and we didn't get it… this is the 3rd summer of drought for us (central tx) … we live in a country town about 50 miles from austin… austin and our town is BOOMING!!! … so much building and it is also causing existing wells to go dry… like you said such irresponsible politicians,… evil and greedy , all of them… we ordered water and it is going to cost us $700 for 8000 gallons!!!
Solar = rugged individualism these days. Solar at the very least will survive the next 25 years at 90% of its original efficiency, you cant do that with gas.
Check out the book "Propaganda" by Edward Bernays if you haven't heard of it. I'm suggesting it because there are a lot of people who are irrationally against solar and the book shows how easy it is for corporations and industries to manipulate people.
Fun fact: Edward Bernays is the reason why people eat bacon and eggs in the morning.
Idk if you have grapes but my 1st year Thomcord grape is doing good, as well as my Brown Turkey fig and Prime Ark 45 Blackberry. Figured I'd suggest them it if you were looking for something heat tolerant.
🙏🏼
I feel so badly for you, my son is in Lubbock and I am just Lord please! They have a new baby and I worry and I will be driving down from Omaha next week and I am scared. I feel some of this is from MAN spraying the sky and it is not from His loving hand, they spray look up SRM, the sky is full of nano particles. Are cars having trouble on the interstate, I will be driving down to Lubbock through the plains by myself and feel a bit scared to be honest.
Thank you. We always want to blame the 'Federal' level of government but these things are LOCAL and STATE decisions and responsibilities! Those 'Laws & Policies' affect us most directly so VOTE! The SUN in Texas is INTENSE… why not use it to the benefit of ALL Texas Citizens???? Put SOLAR applications where they make sense and can help! Be blessed!
I agree 100% with you. Even here in North Carolina they are building everywhere. Threaten us all with rolling blackouts.
I'm agree 100%,I been canning water do to not knowing what our winter are going be like for us Texans. Because I live in a town that doesn't keep up their water pipe do lack of tax dollars. So every time temperature get below 32°f . I'm not sure if our city water will freeze or not. So I comparing can water emergency.
I pray in Jesus name that you are relieved of this heat, and quickly, We complained up here in Pennsylvania because we hit 90's, I am ashamed.
They are building large "wharehouses" in western md even though its obvious the economy doesnt support this. This is not good you cannot trust what is going on nowdays
Blessings to all 🙏
It's called, "You can kiss my ASS," as far as what OTHERS think!
Prayers over Texas😢🙏❣️Solar on houses/buildings…ok. Solar panels instead of crops…no bueno.
Lord keep Your Hand upon Your children.
Twenty million illegals already in America and thousands more every day. They ain’t living in tents.
Will be praying for y’all. We’re in Houston. It’s 103 right now, my little garden is suffering too. I hadn’t heard about the fires. Terrible. I’m praying to the Lord for relief because so many don’t even have AC. We all really need rain. ❤️✝️🙏
I wish we had sprinklers to keep my grounds wet!
Ps the pool water is probably 92 degrees here- not even worth going in.
I think the building is for the influx of north and California residents fleeing blue states
God bless you sister
