I was introduced to Jibaritos by a realtor when looking for places in Logan Square: https://maps.app.goo.gl/huKW7PWkkAUayYvWA
Have not found a better Jibarito. The quality of the ingredients isn’t very high, but there is so much other flavor added by the garlic spread on the plantain, and namely, the hot sauce.
Holy hell, someone please help find out what the ingredients might be for the hot sauce. I don’t have the vocabulary to describe the taste well enough, it’s a spicy, flavor packed medley of peppers, and slightly citric. I buy 2 bottles whenever I’m nearby.

I love jibaritos y mas. Jibaritos on Harlem is good as well. The hot sauce from Borinquen Lounge is also great.
In Humboldt I highly recommend Papa’s Cache.
Amazing place but fuck literally every single person who double parks on Fullerton to pick up their order.
They’ll just sell you the hot sauce if you ask. I have some in my fridge.
Edit: nvm I see you’re on the same train
I love jibaritos y mas but you have to try the steak jibarito at Cafeteria Marcela’s down the street, so good. The coffee is great too
I stopped eating there after that video someone took of all the rats inside that place. Hopefully it’s better now.
Also, any fluent Espanol speakers? There are a lot of apostrophes in the stylized name; are they grammatically correct?
Papa cache’s all day
Omarcitos down the street is good too
