fried combo: catfish, shrimp, hush puppies

everything was super fresh, but the catfish & shrimp were waaay lacking in seasoning & spice — not really worth the $20 price tag

I only knew the boat to be popular because medical types who worked at the nearby hospital or domain people would pull up for happy hour

Just went this week and ordered the exact same thing. And it was also…fine. Husband got the redfish pontchartrain and it looked so good! But he said it was also just okay.

Sam’s boat in Seabrook is awesome and I wondered about the one here. Realize changed names and owners likely.

It was way better when it was Sam’s! Last I went I had the most god awful service and food was okay at best. and of course anything over 100 dollar tab gets an automatic 20% gratuity added. So despite the terrible service, they still got 17 bucks tip (husband wasn’t aware of the automatic gratuity and left 7 dollars)

I had fish and chips at Culinary Dropout at the Domain and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.

Captain Bennys is the better boat for that type of food in North Austin.
