Update: we made marinara with my son’s garden tomatoes
This was from 8.5lbs of tomatoes! The sauce was still too watery after slow cooking for 8 hours. I ended up putting it on the stove to simmer for a bit and that helped.

Beware my mistake. We had tons of fresh cherry tomatoes. Cooked them all up and pureed them to be smoother. All the pureed seeds were gritty and didn’t taste good. should have used a food mill or something to remove most of the seeds and skins.

You might want to put that in a glass container unless you want to stain it red.
