What’s this purple pepper?


I saw this at a farmer’s market in the Midwest US but the stall was busy so I didn’t have a chance to ask about the purple peppers. I can’t read the sign either, it looks like it starts with an A but googling purple peppers that start with A didn’t yield anything useful. Can anyone identify this pepper? Bonus if there’s a scoville # as well.

    They look like egg plants to me.

    Edit: i know they’re.not. they just look like egg plants i used to grow.
