Could you not just use sesame oil? Is there a reason you used avocado oil? I love both, was just curious.
Its interesting, when i was growing up in the UK my family only had ground white pepper, black pepper was new to me when my family moved to Australia when I was a tween! I love white & black pepper for different things.

Chinese homemade version
Just made this, and It was so yummy. I prefer this version over the restaurants that i go to because they always put way too much oil and sauce. This is light, and so much healthier. Asian here and I can be very critical when it comes to Asian food (like Uncle Roger ๐). I think the ingredients you used are great and accurate enough, but the way you cooked makes me want to say โHaiya!!!โ๐
Fried rice is supposed to be cooked with super fast motion and high heat, especially when you pour liquid ingredients like soy sauce or fish sauce to get caramelized effect.
Overall, I would score this cooking 6.5/10. Good job though!
2:50 – Hot tip if you make this and the prawn flavour overtakes it: next time add some lemon juice to the prawns and then rinse them, then proceed with the seasoning step.
