  4. Chef John 350°F with o.o.? Is that not a bit high for o.o.? Is the olive oil really a total necessity?

  5. No more club soda in Brazil. There was not a large enough market (Brazilians do not normally drink scotch and soda!). Can I use sparkling water or tonic water?

  6. What would the chef think about using flavored potato flakes? Garlic, butter, etc? And/or what other things to put into the batter to make that batter stand out?

  8. I made these today along with a recipe for Burger King's Zesty sauce. Together they were amazing!!! 1/2 cup mayonnaise

    1 teaspoon yellow mustard

    2 teaspoons ketchup

    2 teaspoons prepared horseradish

    1 teaspoon lemon juice

    1/2 teaspoon white vinegar

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    1/4 teaspoon granulated sugar

    1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

    3 drops soy sauce

  9. hey! i’ve been in fine dining for some time, and one year for a pre fixe we were doing an onion ring garnish. nobody’s looked good or was crunchy enough. the next day i brought in some idohoan. the look on my chefs face was priceless, but when i fried some up i got a pat on the back. thanks chef john

  10. Ok. I'm happy you are humble. We made these. As far as the texture goes that is excellent. But these are so boring flavor wise. I want to add something to that batter like mustard powder or garlic salt. Just something Chef John. They're good but not great because of the flavor problem
