My first time canning. I used an All American 921 canner to can some potatoes. All the jars that were on the bottom rack have what appears to be starch on them. Did I do something wrong? Or is this normal?

    Calcium in the water. Next time add a good glug of vinegar to the water bath. Tomorrow after you test the seals you can wipe it away.

    Yeah I occasionally forget the vinegar in the water and kick myself. Bummer. BTW, how much water did you put in the canner?
