Shrimp Saganaki or Shrimp Santorini is a legendary Greek dish that is easy to make and difficult to mess up.
Ingredients:
Olive oil;
One pound of shrimp;
One large onion diced;
Salt;
Pepper;
Celery seeds (this is my own addition away from the traditional dish);
One quart of tomatoes, I used San Marzano tomatoes from my own garden;
One tablespoon tomato paste;
1-2 teaspoons of sugar;
Two star anise (γλυκάνισο);
One cup parsley;
1/3 cup Riesling wine;
3 chopped cloves garlic;
1/2 pound feta cheese;
and two scallions.
Recently I uploaded another video of a Greek recipe using a saganaki.
