Been eyeing this spot for a few weeks. I would say it’s more in the Bee Cave area. They have a la carte or set menu items. I got the hamachi, salmon, madai, unagi, and chutoro. All the rolls were 7-10 dollars each and came out pretty rapidly. They’re hand rolled by the chef right in front of you. The rice was nicely seasoned and reminded me of how hanabi used to season their rice. Some people might think it’s too sweet. the rice was warm and nori was crispy. The fish was on the colder side but it was great with the warm rice and nori. My hubby got the 6 roll combo for 35 bucks. which is def a better deal. He wasn’t a fan of the crab , lobster, or scallop though and agreed that the fish options were better. I would say that this spot is on par with kazunori in LA but their tuna and salmon isn’t served minced. I liked the unagi, salmon, and hamachi the most! I have to admit i was still hungry after 5 rolls but they tasted good.

Kazunori is my favorite hand roll bar and I didn’t think that this place came anywhere close. Mostly because the fish was not chopped. The crab roll was also way too sweet and my biggest pet peeve was that the scallop in the scallop roll was cooked and not raw.

The website’s menu is “offline”. Can you describe their menu? What are the other options other than handrolls?

We so desperately needed a hand roll spot

A roll like that with red snapper for seven bucks???

This place is not good. A lot of the handrolls are too sweet and the soy sauce they use has a off sour taste to it.

I had the totally opposite impression but for the same reasons that OP enjoyed it. The fish should be room temp, you can’t taste any fish because it’s all cold. The soy sauce taste quite acidic. And the shari is a pure sugar bomb. The oiliness of low quality farmed fish (esp the tuna)+ sugar Shari was pretty off putting.

Damn girl you shoulda spent 35 dollars to get your nails fixed. You like 2 weeks over due with that grow out. Unagi, farmed/ranch tuna, salmon, and hamachi. You just ate at tsuke, did you really need to eat this crap?

    Salmon – https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-48266480.amp

    Unagi – https://thejapanesefoodlab.com/farmed-vs-wild-unagi/

Tuna – Spanish blue fin tuna belongs only in a can. The sardine/anchovy feed they use makes it so disgusting

    Hamachi – lol hamachi.

Again, if you had an actual palate/nose for food you wouldn’t waste your time like this or maybe you don’t have a job. Instead of quality and what’s actually good you are just in it for the likes and the freebies, so everything you eat is good. Please find a better outlet for your energy.

It looks like the menu and prices have changed a bit since they first opened. I went end of July/early August and they had a 7-roll set for ~$37 and it included unagi. I would highly recommend ordering the sake toro nigiri they have! It was a HUGE piece and was topped with ikura and tobiko.

FAR from the 1st handroll bar. Hell “How Do you Roll” started in Austin for Pete’s sake… it didn’t survive, but it was good for a long, long time.
