What’s the yield and how much coffee did you put in? It does look like you need to grind even finer

classic starter recipe for a good shot on paper is 30 seconds long, yielding x2 the amount of coffee you put in (put in 20g? aiming for 40g in your cup).

not only was this shot over in what seems to be less than 20s total, I’m guessing you went way over 2x the amount of coffee that you put in.

you must indeed grind finer, adding resistance to the water flowing through the compressed coffee puck.

Perhaps the grinder can’t grind finer. Maybe a bigger basket needed that can fit more coffee. As example I can’t grind fine enough for 14g basket but 20g basket works great for me.

I can’t stop laughing lmao how many espresso glasses did you fill with that pull?

    How did it taste.

That is the most important information needed to give the best advice.

Also for more dramatic effect please us a Phantom high speed camera 😀

  7. This is what we refer to as a vindaloo aftermath.

  8. I found my machine does similar. Maybe a little slower only. And when I grind finer the coffee often tastes more bitter.

    Fast & Furious.

If you felt it tastes weak or sour, grind finer to slow down the shot time or alternatively, increase the final yield by letting it flow longer.

If it tasted good, change nothing.

Looks like shit, mate. Grind up finer

I’d aim for ballpark 25 seconds to get your full shot pulled. This looked like maybe 15? Finer grind would slow it down. what grinder do you have?
