I’ve never eaten steak with chimichurri before and decided to give it a try. It was not good. Is it because of this brand? Should I be making it fresh?

It’s possible you just don’t like it, but this stuff looks like it’s wilting. I’d make it fresh and give it another go.

  2. babyshitstain42069

That chimichurri of that brand is complete shit, do one yourself, its very easy and way better than that one.

  3. thishuman_life

Fresh is always best. Any it’s so simple to make, and it can be kept in the refrigerator for a while to use with other foods. Give it a try ☺️

  4. Go to a restaurant that has a good chimichurri sauce. Try it there and then see if it’s your jam. You can try making it fresh but probably would appreciate someone giving you some inspiration

I love fresh chimi.. going to make a red one next, haven’t tried it. But I marinate both chicken and steaks in the stuff.. it’s sooo good.

You couldn’t pay me to eat this. Please make it fresh next time.

  7. Punch_Your_Facehole

I’ll definitely give it another go with some fresh.

Another vote for fresh. Generally Goya products are good in my experience.

Has to fresh in my opinion. Red onion, garlic, parsley, olive oil, red wine vinegar, red pepper, black pepper, salt, and a little lemon. What isn’t going to be great on streak. It’s perfect on flap meat.

First off- why would you think that something canned and mass produced would be better than something fresh- it’s just a dumb question lol

    Second- just make it fresh

  11. Ok-Distribution4077

Yep make it from scratch. It’s super simple and endless recipes for it.

if you need to put sauce on your steak, you’re not cooking the steak right

  13. mildlysceptical22

Make all of your own sauces. There’s about 10 million recipes online and it just isn’t that difficult.

Make it fresh, my favorite is to make a big batch and use some for steak garnish, and then I use the rest as a marinade for Chicken

Olive oil/ Avo oil, lime juice, cilantro or parsley if you don’t like cilantro, salt, garlic, crushed red pepper flake. All in a food processor until your preferred consistency. Adjust amount to taste. You’ll need a good about of oil and acid and cilantro.

This is the basic recipe I use. I made it over and I’ll never buy pre-made again

  16. theydontmakethem

Either make it fresh or find a Argentinian place that makes it for sale

  17. samquinn1488

I’m not a fan of it either, might be better fresh but I don’t care for it even at the steakhouses I went to in Brazil 🤷‍♂️

  18. Few-Walk373

Make it fresh and it will change your life

  19. NC-Stern-Mark

No comparison. Use fresh herbs, good oil and vinegar

  20. Uncle_Burney

Things like most salsas, pesto, and chimichurri are dependent upon fresh herbs and vegetables to really pop. This stuff was made months ago: react to months old chimichurri the same way you would react to months old sushi. Also it’s a fairly simple recipe, with a lot of room for both interpretation and error. Slam dunk to make it yourself.

  21. Anton091085

Fresh is better, and you don’t have to add too much, the flavor is very strong!

  22. 4by4rules

chimichurri easy to make and needs to be FRESH

  23. Gr8fulPhanHenge

Fresh chimichurri is the way. I love it

  24. Proof_Beautiful1523

never tried this product but just by looking at it, I can tell you fresh would be 1,000 times better. it’s only like $6 of ingredients that would yield at least 3 times the size of this jar (might be more if you don’t have extra virgin olive oil & red wine vinegar on hand… but those 2 essentially last forever in your pantry.)

  25. FearlessFreak69

This stuff is garbaggio. The cost of fresh ingredients is also way cheaper than this jar. Fresh is absolutely the way to go, it’s a game changer.

2 bunches of Parsley,3 garlic gloves, half of purple onion, half of a jalapeño seeded, olive oil, salt, black pecker, and red wine vinegar.
    Thank me later

I make chimi all the time, and a general guideline with herbs in sauces is that they should be fresh and not from a jar. Find a recipe and make it from scratch, and there will be a noticeable difference.

  28. MightyMoosePoop

Good steak has no sauce; Good steak needs no sauce.

  29. DukieOtto

Never forget that Goya supported Trump during his insurrection. Maintain the boycott on Goya products
And chimichurri should be fresh not canned

  30. BoNapiltee

Well it has cilantro in it as the first ingredient so of course it’s terrible. I’m pretty sure everybody is in on a joke and knows it tastes like fucking poison but are trying to make me crazy by saying they love it. Like, it literally tastes like a plant trying to tell you not to eat it. Not like hot peppers though, them shits delicious.

  31. kenjinyc

I like everyone’s recipe, I personally add a little soy sauce and some brown sugar to mine.

  32. MyDailyPoop

My husband and I use this recipe! We are obsessed and it’s by far better than anything from a can or jar.

    INGREDIENTS
    • 1/2 cup olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
    • 1/2 cup finely chopped parsley
    • 3-4 cloves garlic (, finely chopped or minced)
    • 2 small red chilies (, or 1 red chili, deseeded and finely chopped (about 1 tablespoon finely chopped chili))
    • 3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1 level teaspoon coarse salt
    • pepper (, to taste (about 1/2 teaspoon))

    PREPARATION STEPS
    1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes to release all of the flavours into the oil before using. Ideally, let it sit for more than 2 hours, if time permits

  33. Essence-of-a-duck

I didnt even know they made jarred chimichurri. Yes make it fresh.

  34. blackmambaza

It’s best when made fresh. The stuff from the jar is a far cry from the flavours that you experience when the sauce is fresh

  35. Goya is fine. It gets a bunch of shit because the CEO was aTrump guy.

  36. jaminator45

Believe it or not the Kroger private label is decent

  37. AccomplishedYam5060

Eeeeee. Yes make your own. It’s just a shitload of finely chopped parsley, diced onion and garlic. Then pour over oil til it’s covered, add salt to taste AND red vinegar.
