We got this for free with a meal from a Korean place near my house and was just wondering if anyone knows what it is? It has a pretty strong smell of that helps

    Pickled radish called danmuji. It’s made from Korean radish (mu ) but can be made with daikon. It’s colored to make it yellow Can also find it cubes in white.

    I have this at home constantly (dad’s Korean) – I always put it in a mixture of vinegar and sugar.

    I’ve always called it Takwan. But yes, as others have said it’s pickled radish. A nice balance of sour and sweet that pairs well with kimchi. My favorite way to eat it is with rice and seaweed

    Edit: My phone changed Takwan to Taiwan
