in that video at the 9 minute and 30 second mark the Simon Says that there is too much variation in the peppers for them to get a Guinness Book of World Record holder breaking title and that’s why the Carolina Reaper is still the hottest according to the Guinness Book of World Records can anyone corroborate this? I mean I’ve asked a similar question in the past and people said it had to do with the fact that pepper X might not be real and dragon’s breath had too much unstability for Mass growing. So I guess yeah what’s the latest take on the hottest peppers and stuff?

I think it has to meet certain definitions to be considered unique. If I can’t find the seeds from the New Mexico Chili Pepper Institute, I don’t think it’s an “official” pepper. I’m still waiting for them to carry reaper seeds.
