This is a very simple, 5-minute recipe for homemade teriyaki chicken.

Homemade teriyaki sauce is really easy to make, is cheap and has around a third of the sugar of commercial brands.

  1. I made this last night, and it came out great, even though I used breast meat because that's what I had on hand.
But I came up with two questions:
    > That looked like a lot of oil you used in your pan; did you drain some of it out before starting to sprinkle in the teriyaki sauce? Or did you just leave it in?
    > I had to do this in batches, because I was making a lot. Is there any way around cleaning the pan in between batches? I didn't want burnt teriyaki sauce.
    Thanks for the great video!

  2. Tried this for dinner tonight. I’ve never used corn starch like this but, that’s what you said to do. OMG….this was SO good! The chicken was so tender! I came very close to achieving nirvana but for the desire for more! Thank you!

  3. I know this may sound crazy but I can use this for shrimp, steak & mushrooms? I ask because my local Japanese hibachi restaurant has this Teriyaki Chicken, Steak, or shrimp rice bowl with yum yum sauce. Sometimes the teriyaki sauce is either cooked with the broccoli or the broccoli just catches some of the sauces, but it’s SOOOOOO GOOOODDD!!! I want to try making it at home.

Also with the rice I’m not sure if they use soy sauce when they fry it, or if they use teriyaki sauce when they fry the rice. I need help on that part.😅

  4. Took me awhile to realize the cornflour you’re referring to is cornstarch in the US 🙄

  5. Cut chicken into pieces
Brush corn starch onto chicken (lets sauce stick to it)
    Heat up pan
    Add oil
    Add chicken
    Brown the chicken
    Add teriyaki sauce
Sauce should thicken and glaze the chicken
    Add touch of mayo

  8. For all of you asking about what kind of oil to use. You can use any kind you want. So long as it's for cooking.
