  1. My fiance is a bit picky and won't eat pork (and niether of us eat lamb), but will this work with chicken thigh fillets? And should I shorten the cooking time by a couple of hours to do it? Thanks 🙂

  2. Yes, you can use Chicken Thigh Fillets if you like. No need to reduce the cooking time, as it's very hard to overcook things in a Slow Cooker 😉

  3. Yummy! I just got my first eva slow cooker and was browsing for recipes, I'm definitely going to try this one, thank you. 🙂

  4. I do mine in a smoker for ten hours. Does your taste like a stew? I have tried it in a slow cooker but found it to stewy. Yours seems to have not much fluid.

  5. My Bf is happy finaly he finds a food that doesnt have onions in them 🙂 and he will love that can u slow cook in your pan aswell ? how low sould it be then

  6. I would add a bit of extra fat to it if you're using chicken or you're going to have very dry meat 🙂 vegetable shortening will do nicely.

  7. Not really a lot of trouble, about 10 minutes work, then wait for it to be cooked. Trust me, it's worth the wait 😉

  8. I made this recipe my mom made the pork I made the sandwiches my mom was out so I made my sandwich and I loved it

  9. My wife and her family ALWAYS cut from any cut of meat ALL of the fat. I keep telling them that leaving some of the fat adds to the flavor. They don't listen. 🙁

  10. I tried it with chicken thigh, and its pretty good….. But i didn't have a slow cooker tho…..

  11. Made this tonight in the Dutch oven…..such a simple recipe but big taste! Who would have thought? Thank you!

  12. I've used this with: Beef, Pork, Chicken, Lamb, Deer and Bison and they all were delish. Thanks OPC!

  13. I came originally from "The South" in the US where BBQ is a religion… not the process of using a grill, but slow cooked, smokey flavors such as this. A good pulled pork sandwich is a thing of beauty. 🙂

Totally love that you are making it down in Oz! Someone asked what types of meat you can use besides pork…. you can BBQ just about anything! Pulled chicken, turkey (wee bit drier in texture), beef, buffalo, alligator, etc. If it crawls.. you can smoke it and slather sauce on it. 🙂

  14. Instead softbuns, use french baguette,  toasted on one side, brushed with oliveoil – replace the BBQ-Sauce with tomato-salsa and add a "blob" of sourcream on top – HEAVEN ON EARTH 😀 😀

  15. Skip the apple cider vinegar, and replace it with Dr. Pepper! It is so amazingly good.
