So I made a post a little while ago about how happy I was to find the sauce on the left, I was so happy with the heat, with the price, with the taste, I was happy with everything.

Then I get a message from this jingle nuts saying that they tried the one on the left, but prefer the one on the right because it has more heat.

So, trusting a trusted member of the Reddit family, I purchased a bottle today and tried it 5 minutes ago on a soft taco I made for dinner.

Whoever made that comment, you were drunk. Turn in your tongue *now* you don’t deserve it.

The sauce on the right punches like a baby in an incubator.

The sauce on the left punches like George McFly taking out Biff at the car in ‘Back to the Future’.

I’m just so glad the sauce on the right was so cheap. I’ll keep it around in case society hits some type of ground zero, and the world goes dark with some apocalyptic nightmare.

At least I’ll have something to put on my zombie burrito.

Valentina isn’t really a HOT sause, but it’s a fantastic sause that goes on almost anything. It’s extra hot version is even better

  2. Special-External664

Idk who told you that but Valentina isn’t hot or really supposed to be that spicy lol

  3. imccompany

The Valentina black label is a little hotter than the yellow, but it’s not hotter than the other bottle. Both have their uses though.

That is a hilarious post and so true. Whoever said that does not know shit from Shinola.

  5. HowSoonIsMeow-

You’re supposed to get the Valentina with the black label, the extra hot.

  6. Manolgar

Valentina isn’t very hot, but it is one of the most flavorful and best sauces on the planet. Especially for the price point.

But, no. Compared to something with habaneros, it’s not going to be hotter. Valentina uses puya chilis, which are delicious – but definitely lower scoville than habs.

Valentina is just Mexican ketchup. Fantastic with eggs.

Valentina is just tasty but not hot. Sometimes I just want the flavor of it on something. I haven’t gotten to try that xxxtra hot sauce yet tho!

  9. FecalHieroglyphics

Yeah Valentina black label is the only one I’ll buy and even then it’s usually just to smother breakfast burritos in for a little flavour

Valentina is like crystal. It’s not very hot at all but the flavor is just so good it pretty much goes with anything.

So what would people recommend that’s hotter than the El Yucateco? I love that stuff but I’m ready to take a step up.

  12. Valentina is a picante based sauce.

    It’s spicier than ketchup.

Valentina is one of my favs for making chili.

I helped out (free labor) at place where the lunch options were hot dogs, polish or chili. One of their employees would always bring us their mega sized bottles to have out on the counter.

I ate a lot of chili with the Valencia black label so got to use the flavor in chili. Joked I had to make up my wages by eating as much free food as possible. Not forgetting the biscuit and gravy in the morning. It was Tabasco or Valentina depending on my mood. But it’s definitely not hot.

  14. Valentina is mainly just water and vinegar. If you want a sauce with heat check the ingredient list and be sure chilies are mentioned 1st. Valentina, Louisiana, crystal, Texas Pete, Tabasco, Cholula etc all have water or vinegar listed 1st as an ingredient , so flavor profile is more acidic than hot.

Valentina is banging on rice and beans, tacos, eggs and chicken. The black label is the best .

I found El Yucateco to be all heat, and don’t enjoy it as much as some other “super hot” sauces… but really, Valentina has it’s place amongst Crystal, Frank’s and Tabasco as a phenomenal all purpose sauce.

Valentina is ok, earthy flavor. It’s like a beginner’s hot sauce, before you try the real stuff.

  17. Dreadcoat

Yea Valentina is a sauce I go to for flavor. I dont consider spice when I want it. Its a less spicy but better flavored (IMO) Tapatio.

  18. ricardortega00

I didn’t read your text wall but yellow Valentina is great and goes awesome with chips or crisp with some lime juice.

El yucateco is a great sauce that goes with real food.

You are lot in the wrong with those two.

  19. well_rounded_mango

An aardvark has entered the chat… secretly.

  20. dr-spaghetti

I haven’t tried the red label, but black label Valentina is fantastic on tomato-based spaghetti sauces (still relatively mild, but super tasty). I love El Yucateco too but they don’t sell it near me 🙁

  21. LaLeyendaLorenzo

The Valentina make a great wing sauce if you plus it up with some of the yucateco. Melt butter add Valentina and yucateco, put on wings. 🤌
