The sign in front of Falafel Burger on 620 caught my attention, it says $1.99 falafel taco.

It’s the sign that’s in front of what used to be the Sonic near Anderson Mill Road. Now the place is a Mediterranean drive-in: Falafel Burger vegan & more.

The taco is really filling, flour tortilla is basic out of bag but the falafel, veggies, sauce and mint are a great mix. Just know that you can’t order it on the mobile menu from you car, you have to ask for it at the window.

I also ordered a green style falafel sandwich that came wrapped in a lettuce head about the size of the football. It was giant. I couldn’t finish all the lettuce but everything inside was good stuff. The combo came with fries and a drink for about $10.

I’d go back to try the pita and namesake Falafel Burger. I was told they will soon be serving Shawarma.

Can you be more specific with the address, thanks

  2. I wish the old Sonic on Airport/MLK would become something like this. It’s eventually going to be an El Pollo Rico, which is fine, but has been “in progress” for what feels like 2+ years now.

They have a fried grouper sandwich that’s huge and pretty dang good.
I’m almost worried their prices are too low? Not complaining but I hate seeing small local places like this pop up and not last.

Pick up some **Handel’s ice cream** across the street! It is very good stuff.

I feel like this is r/Georgetown or cedar park or something and not Austin

Yes I saw that before it opened and made bets on how long the vegan restaurant would last in that area. Fingers crossed for success.

I got the actual falafel burger and I am here to report that it was very good and reasonably priced. Brought my kid and her friend, who just had regular burgers (they liked theirs too). Huge upgrade from a Sonic.

I’m not sure I can forgive that tortilla when halal bros is right across the street and has maybe the best falafel in the city and that garlic yogurt sauce and soft pillowy pita.
