Kinda surprised Reddit hasn’t gobbled right up. I suppose it’s the conflict of hating “late stage capitalism” vs “virtual signaling non sequiturs”

I’m inclined to believe the owner. Don’t post about what it’s like to work at a place where you’ve never worked. Besides, the original complaint sounds both personal and a bit histrionic.

he used it as an opportunity to share values and beliefs of his company. that’s what it is

Their beers are solid and the mushroom pizza I had was really good. This person’s review and you posting it here are both pretty lame.

I hate when I’m post happy hour and respond to emails. Never comes off as good as it did in my head.

Original complaint sounds as eloquent as one of those chick fil a cow billboards

I get a little lost here:
>be aware that upper management (leaders) may clock in under the tip pool time
Since when are shift leads “upper management”? If this were a more formal dining experience, would you be calling the portion of tips that go to the head waiter “skimming”? Head waiter in a formal service environment seems equivalent to shift lead in an informal service and both seem justified in taking a portion of the pooled tips

As someone who’s been to Fast Friends a handful a times I’ve had a fair enough experience, however, I am entirely shocked and disturbed by the response cultivated by management in response to this negative review. As someone who works directly in administration management and the service industry, I have never once seen a manager or staff reply to a review by attacking the person who wrote it.
Dave attacks the commenter by essentially calling them a liar, and then cultivates a response that barely scratches the surface on the issue at hand. He then adds comments about all the wonderful diverse workers they have and how inclusive they are. The review mentions bad morals, not injust/discrimination in the workplace, so his reply seems to be just trying to cover ground and not truly reply to the core issue.
Lastly, I find it Weird to call out who the commenter may be connected to, again something I have never seen. If this person is not connected, imagine how stupid this reply comes across. And if they are connected, he is highlighting and proving her statement on poor treatment of employees, why are you blasting a past employee, on your review page, for everyone to see now, forever?
I enjoyed Fast Friends when I went, and the negative review wouldn’t have changed my coming, but to see this type accusatory reply from management rather than a standard and EXPECTED more apologetic reply, I will not be returning.
