> BBB files indicate a Pattern of Complaints regarding billing practices and customer service for HelloFresh. BBB has noted that the complaint volume for the company has significantly increased over the past 12 months. Consumers are telling BBB about the interactions that they have with HelloFresh – which typically start with the website. Many consumers allege that in order to look at the meal selections available for delivery on the HelloFresh website, it requires the input of a credit card number before viewing the menu options and price points. A number of these consumers claim they exit the website without having fully signed up or selected meal packages, but then are subsequently notified that a meal box is on its way to them. Other consumers say they did sign up for a trial offer with the company which is reportedly converted to a regular paid subscription despite their attempts to cancel. A number of consumers also detail the extensive and frustrating experience with the company’s customer service staff when trying to cancel orders, subscriptions, or request refunds. Some complainants allege their requests for escalation of their problems to a manager are either dismissed as impossible or avoided with assurances of callbacks which do not occur.

[Another user here sued Hellofresh for the exact same scammy business practices, and won a $10k settlement](https://www.reddit.com/r/hellofresh/comments/16vdhwz/update_10k_settlement/).

if you give your credit card to a company, expect to be charged. It is really not that difficult. Don’t want to pay for something, keep the card in your wallet. common sense

Good grief. The BBB has information regarding most businesses. You know who communicates with the BBB? Customers who file complaints. They don’t talk with the majority of customers who don’t have issues, and know how to navigate a website. People thinking they haven’t signed up for something, after entering their payment information, are beyond help. The menus are, and have always been available without even being a customer. Get a damn grip.
